April Lockhart

April Lockhart is a born July 4 in 1995. In the seventh grade, she started taking guitar lessons and piano lessons. That ignited her enthusiasm to write songs. When April was 12 when she wrote her first single called Different. When she was 14, April devoted much of her time creating and playing with songs. Soon after she began taking excursions to write with her father in NY in New York and LA. April started to incorporate additional relevant subjects into the Take my Hand song for some acquaintances, including peer pressure problems and suicides among teenagers. Lockhart, a popular lifestyle influencer as well as having partnerships with clean beauty brands Ilia, has built her own following. She was not born with a left hand, and that is the reason she's who she is. It's just not the full story. Lockhart doesn't deny her disability on Instagram, but she isn't making it the focal point of it. What is the message? The message? We are all multifaceted, and that our identity and physical self aren't as appear. Lockhart says in a video interview with Lockhart in a video interview "I am not convinced that my physical appearance should define me. It's not my intention to be an influencer on disability, because I've many more things to contribute." My day-today life is not dependent on it. I lead a normal daily life, and come up with myself solutions for problems. This is also part of my personality, and that it is something to be talked about. Lockhart inspires us to keep striving to be self-accepting. She has had periods where she was uncomfortable dressing in certain styles that exposed her arms. She can wear whatever she wants, and she happily shares pictures of her in these outfits. One of the keys to self-love for her is that it's not a place to go. However, that is typical for people who has insecurities. I think it is important to be surrounded by those who are able to know the person you are.
