Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci - (born on 12 November 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej or now Onesti, Romania), Romanian gymnast. The first gymnast to score a 10 for competing in the Olympics. Comaneci was first discovered by Bela Karolyi who was later her Romanian gymnastics coach at the time she was just six years old. In 1969, she took part in the Romanian Junior Games where she placed 13th. She was awarded the championship in 1970. At her first international event in 1972 a pre-Olympic junior event for countries of the communist bloc she was awarded three gold medals. Then in 1973 and 1974 she became an the all-around junior champion. When she competed for the first time as a senior in 1975 she bested the Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva who was a five-time European champion, winning 4 gold and one silver medal. In 1976, she took home the American Cup at the New York City Olympics. She also was the first female ever to remove the parallel bars with the double backward salto. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. As a teenager, she began performing in traveling shows like Ice Capades as a skater alongside her younger sister Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne is a United States citizen, born on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago, Illinois. Carol began her career in the entertainment business when she was in her teens. Her first professional gig was figure skating along with Nina Wayne, her younger sister in one of the touring entertainment shows Ice Capades. The show featured dramatic ice skating shows.
